Introducing ExEm® Foam or HyFoSy for simplicity, HyFoSy procedure can be performed in the comfort of your gynecologist’s office and allows your physician to provide you with the results of your tubal patency test in real-time. So, you can continue your fertility journey without delay.
HyFoSy Process
You’ll sit on a gynecologic chair; your gynecologist will place a speculum to prepare for the ultrasound procedure.
A catheter will be placed in your cervix. The speculum is removed, and the ultrasound probe is inserted.
ExEm® Foam is inserted through the catheter. The foam lets your gynecologist visualize the contour of your uterine cavity and the flow of the foam through the fallopian tubes.
Using small movements of the ultrasound probe, your gynecologist can determine the patency of your fallopian tubes.
Afterward, you and your gynecologist will discuss the next steps in your fertility journey.
ExEm Foam FAQ
- The foam procedure should take place in the pre-ovulatory phase of your menstrual cycle (cycle days 6 through 11)
- It’s important to have a negative pregnancy test within 24 hours before the procedure takes place.
- You may see small amounts of foam after the catheter is removed, and some light bleeding.
- Common side effects are: pelvic and abdominal pain; vasovagal reactions and associated symptoms such as nausea and faintness; and post-procedure spotting. Tell your doctor if you experience any of these, or any other, side effects.
